In loving memory of Marion A. Russell, a lifelong resident of Butternut, who peacefully went home to Jesus on Thursday May 16th at the age of 99.  Marion was born on June 5th, 1924, the daughter of Frederick and Pauline (Zoesch) Bentz.

Marion attended Butternut grade and high school.  During her high school years, she enjoyed summer employment at Ross’ Teal Lake Resort in Hayward, WI.  Following graduation, she worked in the office of Edward Hines Lumber Co. in Park Falls and First Wisconsin Trust Bank in Milwaukee, WI.

On October 13, 1951, Marion married the love of her life, Howard (Jack) Russell at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Butternut, WI.  Marion was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was known as a servant leader.  She led and participated in monthly church mailings, Cradle Roll mailing and most near dear to her heart, the Tuesday Morning Ladies’ Quilters Group for World Relief.  Marion remained an active member in the Butternut American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #272 for 57 years and served as Treasurer & Poppy Chairman.  Marion and Jack enjoyed a life full of adventure and looked forward to their travels throughout the U.S.

Marion had an unwavering faith in God and her family.  She was a deeply spiritual woman who was thankful for the simple things in life. She had many passions which include genealogy, couponing, quilting, socializing, playing bingo with her friends at Park Manor Nursing Home and baking; especially her famous chocolate chip cookies. But most of all, she loved her family and instilled values in them that will live on.  Marion lived a full life and will be remembered as an incredible, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend.  But most of all, she will be remembered for her loving and giving heart.

She is survived by her children: John (Jane) Russell, Park Falls & Susan (Tom) Joyner, West Palm Beach, FL.

Grandchildren:  Jason (Brooke) Russell, Mackenzie Kundinger, Katie (Robert, Jr.) Weinberger, Jackie (David) Ayers, Russell Joyner & Kasey Joyner.

Great Grandchildren: Alexia, Aubrey & Asher Russell, Caden, Jaxson & Annika Kundinger, Ian & Macy  Weinberger, Theo & Elliot Ayers.
