Sheila Colleen Statler, age 71, of Milwaukee, WI, passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Aurora St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee. She was born on August 28, 1953, in Park Falls, WI, to Clifford and Ruth (Slack) Boushon. After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1971, Sheila completed her LPN training at Superior Technical Institute. Sheila went to work at Indianhead Memorial Hospital in Shell Lake, where she met Ora (Skeeter) Statler. They married January 26, 1974, in Mountain Home, Idaho, and had two children, Stacy (Statler Labbe) Mumpower of Magna, Utah, and David Statler, deceased. Sheila continued her nursing education and became an RN associate degree. She worked at various hospitals, nursing homes, and home health agencies. After retiring, Sheila and Ora moved to Park Falls to live before moving to Salt Lake, Utah, to be near their daughter. In 2020, Sheila returned to Wisconsin to be near her brothers. For the past year, Sheila lived at Sunrise Nursing Home in Milwaukee, where she showered everyone with love and was well loved by staff and residents in return.
Sheila is survived by her daughter Stacy Mumpower, grandson Darian Statler of Utah, brothers Michael (Gail) Boushon of Greenfield, Patrick Boushon of Green Bay, Dennis (Becky) Boushon of Park Falls, Bruce (Tina) Boushon of Payson, Arizona, one nephew, and six nieces and their children. She was predeceased by her son, David Statler, grandson Joseph Labbe, parents Clifford and Ruth Boushon, infant sister Paula Boushon, and sister-in-law Mary Boushon.
Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for a short burial service at Nola Cemetery at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024.
