Arlene Louise Seitz, our loving and devoted mother went home to be with her Lord on Mother’s Day May 12, 2024.  She was born on February 12, 1937, in Duluth, MN, the daughter of Andrew and Louise (Lorass) Eikanger.   Arelene spent her early years in Duluth where she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married.   She graduated from Duluth Denfeld.  On December 8, 1962, she married Franklin Seitz.  The couple lived in Duluth until Frank’s work took them to Eau Claire, and then to Fifield and their beef farm.  There she enjoyed raising her five children and where her grandchildren loved to come and play.  Besides being a busy wife and mother, Arlene found time to be a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent.  She was also involved in the Girl/Boy Scouting program in Fifield for twenty-five years, receiving the highest leadership award.  Arlene was president of the Lioness Club for many years, along with other Lions and Lioness Clubs in the area which brought First Alert to Flambeau Hospital.  She was also the chairperson for the Price County Red Cross, during which time she was an instructor for CPR and First Aid and was also an EMT and Rescue Unit for the area.  Arlene loved to read, sew, and go snowmobiling.  She was one of the founders of the Fifield Snowdovers.  Her specialty was her special quilts she made for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Most of all, Arlene enjoyed being a wife and mother.  She adored her fifteen grandchildren: Leah, Shanda, Katlin, Andrew, Codey, Kristen, Ashley, Monica, Mitchel, Dustin, Brandon, Courtney, Ty, Bo, & Katrynia.  She was also a proud great-grandmother. 

She is survived by her four children: Gerald Seitz of Ashland, Kim (John) Smith of Fifield, Glenn (Debra) Seitz of Fifield, & Beth (Neal) Zirbel of Fifield, her sister Sharon (LeRoy) Larson of Yorba Linda, CA, (2)sisters-in-law: Dee Eikanger of Florida and Marge Eikanger of Duluth, and cherished by nieces ,nephews, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Franklin, her daughter Vicki Seitz, brothers: Paul, Einar, Herbert, & Roy Eikanger and sister Margaret Ostrander.

Funeral services will be held at the Fifield Congregational Church on Tuesday May 21, 2024, at 11:00am.  Rev. Dean Arbs will officiate.

Burial will follow at Forest Home Cemetery in Fifield.

A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10:00am until the hour of the service.
