Joel Karnick
Gerald “Jerry/J.P.” P. Piechowski, age 72, of Park Falls, formerly of Hortonville, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday April 14, 2024. He was born April 3, 1952, the son of Anton and Ruth (Hess) Piechowski. He actively participated at Saint Marks Catholic Church as an altar boy when growing up. After graduating from Wautoma High School in 1970, he was employed by Alliance Laundry in Ripon, Wisconsin. He later attended Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, Wisconsin, and graduated with a associate degree in Electric Technology. He also became interested in flying planes and earned himself a pilot’s license. He was soon employed by Miller Electric Manufacturing Company in Appleton, where he worked in product development for 43 years. He married the love of his life, Marlene Boese on January 8, 1977. Together they raised two children. He continued his active participation at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville, as a lector. He served as an active member of the Outagamie Conservation Club volunteering his time as a director. He also managed the traps and youth programs. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and bowling with family and friends. He passed on the love of these activities to his children and grandchildren. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He spent the final weeks of his life surrounded by the people he loved and will be deeply missed by all that were lucky enough to know and love him.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Marlene, two children; Jason and Melissa (Charles) Pirlot; three grandchildren; Valerie, Benjamin, and Zachary Siebers; seven brothers and sisters; Tony (Mary), Rosemary, Sue (John) Andrews, Jim (Linda), Bill (Mary), Dave (Debbie), and Kathy (Tom) Shpakow; sister-in-law Loretta, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard Piechowski.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Community in Hortonville, WI on Thursday April 18, 2024, at 11:00am. Fr. Phil Schoofs will officiate.
A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:00am until 11:00am.
The family would like to thank all the staff at St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care, especially his care time of Lori, Kim, and Mandy.
