Ralph Alexander Jamieson
age 75, of Glidden, died on Monday March 25, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center in Park Falls. He was born on June 21, 1948, in Park Falls, the son of Alexander and Caroline (Tank) Jamieson. He was a graduate of the Butternut High School and then entered the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. On February 19, 1977, he married Gertrude Mertig-Petroski. He worked for the Butternut and Mellen Veneer Mills. Long Year Drilling Company of Ladysmith, the Flambeau Paper Mill, North Country Lumber in Mellen and was a self-employed logger. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by (4)stepchildren: Ron (Kathy) Petroski of Arkansas, Karl (Lou) Petroski of Texas, Linda (John) Schmidt of Glidden, and Bob (Mary) Petroski of Glidden, (9)grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, his brother Dave Jamieson of Minnesota, (4)sisters: Elsie (Paul) Petroski of Glidden, Beverly Seiger of Wausau, Nancy (Mickey) Gould of Butternut, and Connie Jamieson of Minnesota, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gertrude, his stepson Mike Petroski, sister Susan Jamieson, and brother John Jamieson.
A graveside service will be held at a later date.
