Prentice Tops Butternut Girls

Butternut hosted Prentice on Senior night in what would be a good Regional tune up for both teams.  The Midgets came out flat, perhaps a “hangover effect” from their emotionally draining last second loss to Drummond on Friday.  Prentice was the wrong team to face in that case as the Lady Bucs were fundamentally sound and knocked down their shots enroute to a 57-43 win.

We kept cutting into their lead, but never really got our game going.  Prentice played a good game and took it to us.  We have to pick ourselves back up, there are no easy match ups the rest of the way through.  Jersey Polencheck with 20 and 7 assists, Kendra Pritzl added 15 and Caitlynn Bebeau 6.

Butternut falls to 16-7 overall and will travel to Drummond on Thursday for a conference rematch to close out the regular season.  They host Mercer in first round of Regionals on Tuesday at 7:00.
