Arlene (Sue) Karpus, 86, passed away peacefully November 2 at her home in Butternut, WI. Born April 8, 1931 in Chicago. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Marie (Kretz) Peplansky. Sue married Richard Karpus in 1951. They started a family soon after with with five children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren to follow. They moved to Park Falls in 1986 and started their lives up north. Sue was an avid bowler and gardener who loved to spend time with family and friends. Sue was a vital part of the Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store for 23 years and served as Head Chairman.. until recently.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard and her daughter Mary Catherine her grandchild Tracy Marie, her parents, a sister and several brothers. Those left behind include daughters, Susan (John) Musinski, Deborah Fitzgerald, Loretta Prindle, her son, Richard (Faith) Karpus, sister Mary Ann (Wally) Busse, sister-in-laws Mary Jo Peplansky and Barb Peplansky. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She will be missed and will remain in our hearts forever.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday November 7, 2017 at 11:00am from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls. Fr. Shaji Pazhukkathara will officiate.
Burial will follow at Nola Cemetery in Park Falls.
A visitation will be held on Monday November 6, 2017 at the Novitzke Funeral Home in Park Falls from 5:00pm until 7:00pm and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00am until the hour of the service.
