Alan Paul Meives, 61, Town of Ogema, died at his home while under the
care of his family and Hope Hospice on Monday, January 9, 2017. He was born
in Phillips, Wisconsin on August 16, 1955, the son of Marion and Rosella
(Niessen) Meives. He was a 1973 graduate of the Phillips High School. He
was married to Mary Good Drexler on December 25, 1996, in the Town of Elk.
He was employed by Phillips Plastics Corporation for many years as a machine
operator. In later years he enjoyed working on his brother Lawrence’s farm.
In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, mowing
lawn, being outdoors, and watching parades.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; by one son David (Megan) Drexler,
Phillips; by five grandchildren, Dominique, Jordan, Brandy, Kenny, and Lexi;
by two great grandchildren, Autumn and mason; by one sister, Juanita Von
Segeren, Medford, MO; and by five brothers, Everett “Butch” (Geneva) of
Minnesota, Ken of Minnesota, George (Barb), Phillips, Lawrence (Bonnie),
Phillips, and Dan (Rosie), Phillips. He is preceded in death by his father,
Marion Meives, his mother, Rosella Veverka, and by his step-father, William
Veverka; by one sister, Rose Ann; by two brothers, Jack “Punk” and Melvin;
by one nephew, George Meives; and by his mother-in-law, Isabel Good.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 5, from 11:00
A.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Happy Daze in Kennan.
