Adell “Del” Joan Gummo-Starczynski
age 81 of Butternut, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday September 12, 2017 at Seasons of Life Hospice in Waukesha. She was born on December 24, 1935 in Whitewater, the daughter of Walter and Dorothea (Schmidt) Meyer. On September 23, 1967 Adell married Glen “Slim” Starczynski. The couple moved to the northwoods in 1979. Del was well known and loved by many people. She loved playing pool, bowling, music, fishing, gardening, and hunting. She was an amazing cook, famous in the northwoods for her beer cheese soup and hot fudge pies. She worked as a cook at Lake Bastine and Fort Flambeau and several other places throughout her career.

and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Andrew N. Gummo, her second husband Glen Starczynski in 2010, her step-daughter Karen Szuta, her grandson George, and her step-granddaughter Susan.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 7, 2017 at 2:00pm from the Novitzke Funeral Home Chapel in Park Falls. Deacon Robert Schienebeck will officiate.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00pm until the hour of the service on Saturday.
Interment will follow at Butternut Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
